Sitler’s LED Supplies has pledged $100,000 dollars in LED lighting and installation services to Camp Courageous in honor of William Andrew “Andy” Meardon, part owner, who passed away on December 15, 2016. This donation is in honor of Andy’s ever-present and generous spirit. Sitler’s is thrilled to be a part of this project in honor of Andy and his desire to brighten the lives of so many deserving people by giving back.
Camp Courageous was founded in 1972, when 40 acres of land was donated for the sole purpose of opening a camp for people with special needs. Camp Courageous was built with donated materials and services. They provide amazing activities and services for people of all abilities and ages, hosting campers from ages 1 to 105! The Camp Courageous board stated, “This will be the largest event/upgrade in the history of Camp Courageous.”
Camp Courageous is supported by donations and volunteering, with no government assistance, to this day. Sitler’s is proud to help this amazing organization and its campers thrive!
Beginning at 9 a.m. on February 11, 2017, Sitler’s will work to completely renovate the Camp Courageous Grounds in one day! Sitler’s will install 2,646 LED T8 Tubes, 132 LED A19 bulbs, 125 LED Candle Style Bulbs, 82 LED BR30 bulbs, 27 LED high bays, 24 Once Innovations lights, 22 Can Retrofits, and 7 wall packs in 9 hours! That is a total of 3, 065 total lamps!
Products and services have also been donated to Sitler’s to help complete this project. We have been blessed by donations from Giese Manufacturing from Dubuque with a full donation of all products that they manufacture, Once Innovations out of Minnesota kicked in a donation of all the barn lights, and Lyle Ehrenberg from Integrated DNA in Coralville, IA partnered with Duke Aerial to donate 3 lifts for the day.
